Principal GMC Anantnag reviews yatra arrangements

Directs for comprehensive health care for pilgrims

Srinagar, June 28: Principal GMC Anantnag, Prof (Dr) RukhsanaNajeeb today reviewed the arrangements and preparedness at the medical college in connection with the ShriAmarnathJi Yatra-2024.
During the meeting, Dr Rukhsana expressed her contention with the comprehensive arrangements made, underscoring the importance of exemplary patient care.
She said every patient should be treated with the utmost care and respect, as they represent the institution and contribute to its reputation as a prestigious medical facility.
The principal directed all concerned officials to formulate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) specifically tailored for these patients, ensuring sustained benefits for ShriAmarnathJi pilgrims with medical comorbidities both this year and in the years to come.
The Medical Superintendent of GMC Anantnag also provided a detailed overview of the meticulous preparations.
The MS said dedicated ICU Beds including Six (6) surgical ICU beds, four (4) medical ICU beds, and five (5) trauma section beds in the Casualty Ward have been reserved exclusively for these patients while high flow oxygen facility is available in all the dedicated sections.
It was informed that all necessary facilities have been significantly enhanced and are fully operational. Comprehensive diagnostic services including X-Rays, Ultrasounds (USG), CT scans, and various laboratory tests will be provided free of cost.
A spokesperson said essential emergency medicines, intravenous (IV) fluids, surgical items, and other critical supplies have been stocked and are available at no cost to the patients.
A Control Room has been established to ensure seamless coordination and management of these patients. A nodal officer has been designated to liaise with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Anantnag. This initiative will be supervised by both the Medical Superintendent and the Principal of GMC Anantnag to ensure efficient and effective management.
The meeting was attended by Medical Superintendent, HOD Anaesthesiology, HOD General Medicine, HOD Surgery, HOD Radiology, Incharge casualty section, and Hospital Administrators, among others.
