Srinagar, Sep 22: The Ministry of Education (MoE) has said there was a need to prepare a calendar of activities for the identification of children with Special Needs (CwSN) and the availability of special educators for differently abled students.
In a detailed review and framework for the ongoing and upcoming academic year, the ministry while evaluating inclusive education has said, “A comprehensive action plan—calendar of activities is to be prepared for the identification of children with special needs (CWSN), training of teachers and availability of special educators.”
It also said that a calendar of activities also needs to be prepared for making infrastructure and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) labs inclusive and awareness programmes.
Accordingly, the union ministry has directed to explore avenues for convergence with the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Social Justice for effective coverage and implementation.
“Regular Updation of child wise data relating to stipend for girls and other student oriented component-wise details under Inclusive Education must be uploaded on Project Appraisal, Budgeting, Achievements and Data Handling System (PRABANDH) portal,” it said.
In the meantime, the authorities from Jammu and Kashmir had informed the MoE that TALAASH App was launched and hosted training of 39,876 Master Trainer, HoIs and survey stands completed to identify Out of School Children (OoSC) in the age group of 6-18 yrs.
