Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Director, Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), who is also the Prabhari Officer for Shadab Karewa village in Shopian District, chaired a meeting of officers to review the Back to Village Program developmental programs approved in B2v4.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to issues raised in the previous Back to Village programs and approved works in B2V4. He assured the public that he would be available to redress public issues and facilitate appropriate communication
between the Panchayats, local administration, and line departments.
Locals raised a variety of issues, which were discussed in depth with the concerned government officials. A detailed review of self-employment schemes was conducted at the meeting. The targets set in B2V4 were reviewed and the Prabhari Officer gave instructions to ensure that we achieve them as soon as possible. He also encouraged the unemployed youth of the area to take up entrepreneurship as a career option. Issues of the playground, road connectivity, irrigation, and water supply were among the pressing issues and others related to the health and animal husbandry departments also arose.
Sachin Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Shopian was also present on the occasion. Prabhari Officer welcomed the Deputy Commissioner and on his recommendations, the DC assured that all possible help would be provided to the people of the area and genuine problems would be solved on a war footing. The Deputy Commissioner made a commitment to resolve water supply problems by August this year and will try to solve the irrigation issues as well in near future. He was accompanied by Khursheed Ahmad Khatana, Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Shopian.
Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Executive Director, JKEDI and officers of JKEDI accompanied the Prabhari Officer to review the progress of various ongoing projects. Representatives of PDD, Rural Development Department, Local Administration, Animal Husbandry, Jal Shakthi Department, Health Department, Horticulture and Agriculture Department, and DECC among others were also present at the meeting.
