SRINAGAR, Jan 20: Anamika Bali, a female student from Shri Krishan Chander Government Degree College Poonch, has achieved a remarkable feat. She has become the first girl from Pir Panjal to be selected in the NCC contingent for the Republic Day Parade 2024 in New Delhi.
Anamika Bali, who completed her high schooling in the Poonch district with outstanding scores of 97 percent in the 10th-grade examination and 94 percent in the 12th standard examination, is currently pursuing her B.A. Honours in History at Shri Krishan Chander Government Degree College Poonch.
As a second-year cadet in the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Anamika actively participated in various NCC activities at the college level, leading to her selection for the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2024, representing NCC Directorate Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh as the main best cadet Army (SW).
During the RDC, Anamika achieved the prestigious position of a briefer in the NCC Hall of Fame, where she had the honor of briefing dignitaries such as the Vice President of India, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Defense Staff, and other high-ranking officials. She is also set to be part of the PM’s Rally planned on the evening of January 27, 2024, considering it a great honor and a wonderful experience.
Anamika, along with Ruksana Kauser, expressed that they are the first two girls from the Poonch district to be selected for the Republic Day camp. They understand the significance of their presence in representing the hopes and aspirations of their 5 J&K BN NCC Poonch and the entire Poonch district.
She extended her gratitude to her seniors, teachers, and friends who supported her journey, citing Senior Under Officer Asma Choudhary as one of her inspirations to join NCC.
Dr. Yougish Kumar Sharma, NCC officer from Shri Krishan Chander Government Degree College Poonch, shared that both girls from their college have been selected for the Republic Day camp, with Anamika Bali being the first girl from Pir Panjal in the NCC contingent for the Republic Day Parade 2024 in Kartavya Path, New Delhi.
The Deputy Commissioner of Poonch, in an official tweet, celebrated the achievement, stating, “Proud Moment, District Administration Poonch extends greetings and appreciation to Anamika Bali, a student of SKC GDC Poonch. She is the first girl from Pir Panjal who got selected in the NCC contingent to participate in Republic Day Parade 2024 at Kartavya Path, New Delhi.”
