Police solves theft case in Sopore, Five arrested

Sopore, Dec 12 : Police in Sopore solved a theft case by arresting 05 accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen livestock.

Police Post Warpora received an application from one individual namely Fayaz Ahmad War son of Late Mohammad Sultan War resident of Warpora Sopore regarding the theft of his livestock (04 cows) from his cow shed. Upon receipt of the complaint, a case was registered relevant sections of law at Police Station Sopore and investigation was initiated.

On the directions of SP Sopore Smt. Divya D-IPS, a SIT comprising of SHO Police Station Sopore and Incharge Police Post Warpora headed by SDPO Sopore was constituted. After strenuous efforts and with the help of technical inputs, one person identified as Manzoor Ahmad War son of Abdul Rashid War resident of Raj Mohalla Warpora was apprehended. During the investigation, he confessed that he had committed the crime along with four others.

They have been identified as Mohammad Shafi Lone son of Mohammad Maqbool Lone, Bilal Ahmad Malik son of Ghulam Rasool Malik both the residents of Raj Mohalla Warpora, Ashiq Hussain Lone son of Mohammad Maqbool Lone and Mohammad Asif Bhat son of Abdul Rashid Bhat both the residents of Zyootmulla Bandipora.

All the accused have been arrested and on their disclosure 02 cows have been recovered from their possession and a vehicle bearing registration no. JK15B-3463 used in commission of crime has also been seized. Further investigation of the case is going on, more recoveries are expected.
