Jammu and Kashmir Police have solved a theft case within hours by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday.
A Police spokesperson said that On 27-03-2023, Police Station Zainapora received a written complaint from one person namely Faroq Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat resident of Niklora stating therein that his personal Mobile phone has been stolen from his Hardware shop at Zainapora. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.20/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Zainapora and investigation was initiated.
“During the course of investigation, one suspect identified as Rafee Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohamad Ayoub resident of Zainapora was called for questioned in the instant case and he confessed his involvement in the commission of crime. On his disclosure, Stolen Mobile phone and a cash amount of Rs 41000, which was illegally withdrawn by the said accused through MPay have also been recovered. Subsequently, he has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody”, he said.
