Police solve burglary cases in sopore, 4 arrested

Sopore, Oct 04: Police in Sopore have successfully solved two burglary cases by arresting four accused persons and recovered stolen property from their possession.

According to a statement issued here, on 01/10/2025, PS Bomai received a written complaint from Mohammad lateef Peer son of Ali Mohammad Peer resident of Tujjer Shareef that on 30 September 2025, some unknown burglars have stolen 01 Transformer (10 KV) and 01 cycle from his house. Accordingly, case vide FIR No. 61/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at PS Bomai and investigation was taken up.

During the course of investigation, one suspect Mudasir Ahmad Ganie son of Farooq Ahmad Ganie resident of Tujjer Shareef was picked up for questioning, who disclosed his involvement in the commission of crime. He further added that he sold stolen items to two Auto drivers and received cash of ₹1300/- and one of the Auto driver identified as Danish Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Shafi Dar is residing at Maharaj Pora Sopore. Upon disclosure of accused Mudasir Ahmad Ganie, offence 317 (2) Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita invoked in the instant case against the Auto drivers. Subsequently, Auto driver Danish Shafie was apprehended who also disclosed his involvement in the case for purchasing of stolen transformer and also disclosed the particulars of another Auto driver identified as Tariq Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Rashid Shah resident of Maharaj Pora Sopore, who purchased stolen Cycle. All the three accused persons were arrested and stolen property recovered from their possession. All three accused persons are under police remand interrogation is continue for further recoveries on other theft cases.Similarly, on October 03, 2025, Police Post Bus Stand received a complaint from Altaf Hussain Shalla resident of Shalimar Colony B Sopore, stating therein that an unknown individual had barged into his house and had stolen pipes and other iron items. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 214 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation was initiated.
