Budgam: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said that they had seized 6 tippers and arrested 4 persons who were involved in the illegal excavation of minerals in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official from the Police Headquarters in Budgam told the Rising Kashmir that during the patrolling at Mirgund Crossing, A police team from the Police Station Budgam intercepted six tippers bearing registration numbers JK04B-5711, JK04B-1859, JK01J-9891, JK14B-5222, JK01H-2177, and JK03B-4325 loaded with illegally excavated clay. The 04 drivers were arrested, and the 06 tippers were seized on the spot.
He identified the arrested drivers as: Mohd Ayoub Dar, son of Ghulam Hassan Dar; Nazir Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar; Adil Ahmad Lone son of Bashir Ahmad Lone; and Firdous Ahmad Pal, son of Bashir Ahmad Pal.
” A Case FIR numbers 90/2023 and 91/2023 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Budgam and an investigation has been taken up,” an official said.
