Leh, Jan 20: In a significant operation aimed at curbing illegal activities, the district Police Leh Thursday seized a substantial quantity of illicit liquor from multiple locations around Leh city.
Police have registered two (FIRs) under 07/2025 and FIR No. 08/2025, both under Section 48(a) of the Excise Act. A police official said that police are actively investigating to trace the origins of the seized liquor and identify the distribution network involved. Authorities have urged the public to assist in combating illegal activities by reporting any suspicious behaviour to the nearest police station or through dedicated helpline numbers. Public cooperation is deemed essential in fostering a safer environment for all residents, the officials said.
