Police seize 750 litres of illicit diesel, arrests accused in Sopore

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday recovered illicit diesel from the village Chatoosa in the jurisdiction of Police Station Dangiwacha area of North Kashmir’s Sopore.

A Police spokesperson said that a specific information was received regarding the transportation of an illicit Diesel and accordingly, a police party of PS Dangiwacha headed by SHO Dangiwacha Insp. Jan Mohammad conducted raid at the specific location.

“During the raid, the police party recovered six barrels of illicit Diesel approximately 750 litres from the spot”, he said.The accused involved was identified as Babar Shams Baba S/O Shams ud Din Baba R/O Jalal Abad Sopore. 

“In this regard, a case under FIR No. 11/2024 under relevant sections of law in Police Station Dangiwacha has been registered and investigation has been set into motion”, he said.
