Police rescue family after portion of house collapses

Ganderbal, Mar 03: Police on Sunday took swift action to relocate a family from their residential premises in the Doie Pati Haknar area of Gund in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. A portion of their home suffered damage due to land sinking.
The homeowner, expressing concern over the deteriorating condition of his residence, said he felt a section of his house would collapse due to land subsidence. “I immediately notified both the local authorities and police and sought their assistance,” he said.
In response, a team from the Gund Police Station visited the site to assess the situation. Following a thorough evaluation, the authorities not only documented the incident but also ensured the safe relocation of the affected family to a secure location.
The homeowner, belonging to an economically weaker background, appealed to the district administration for compensation, saying his family has suffered a financial loss.
