Police on Friday recovered huge consignment of illicit timber from the village Vuhlutra Arkhereari in the jurisdiction of Police Station Panzalla in North Kashmir’s Sopore.
A Police spokesperson said that a specific information was received regarding illicit timber consignment and accordingly, a police party of PS Sopore headed by SHO Panzalla Insp. Tariq Ahmad conducted raid at the specific location.
“During the raid, the police party recovered a total of 66.23 Square feet of illicit timber from the spot”, he said.
A Spokesperson said that the accused involved was identified as Abdul Majeed Najar S/O Fateh Mohammad Najar R/O Volutra Rafiabad.
“In this regard, a case under FIR No. 06/2024 under relevant sections of law in Police Station Panzalla has been registered and investigation has been set into motion”, he said.
