Srinagar, Aug 16: The campaign “Meri Maati Mera Desh – Mitti Ko Naman Veroon Ka Vandan” continues under which Jammu & Kashmir Police organized plantation drives in Shopian and Sopore.
In Shopian, on the direction of SSP Shopian MS Tanushree, police held plantation drives across all the police establishments in the district with an aim to promote awareness, importance and community engagement in understanding environmental ethics and the role of police and the public in uplifting the nation, a police spokesperson said in a statement issued here.
He said the initiative garnered significant enthusiasm and participation from all sections of society, highlighting the collective dedication towards a stronger and environmentally conscious community. All SDPOs of the district participated in the drive and planted ornamental and other local variants of trees in and around the office campus and at other places, he said.
In Sopore, SSP Sopore Shabir Nawab accompanied by SDPO Sopore Dr Raies Ahmad and DySP DAR Sopore and Dr Hilal Ahmad Hilal held a plantation drive at District Police Lines Sopore. The drive was also launched in all the police establishments of the police district Sopore, the spokesperson said.
