Anantnag, May 17: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday launched large-scale Narco Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) at 20 locations across Anantnag district as part of its intensified crackdown on drug trafficking and the narcotics network.

Police said the simultaneous operations were carried out by specially constituted teams under the supervision of senior officers based on specific intelligence inputs and investigations into NDPS cases.

K9 squads were also deployed during the searches to enhance the effectiveness of the operation. The raids targeted suspected hideouts, transit points and locations linked to alleged drug peddlers, kingpins and their associates.

Officials said the district-wide operation is part of the police strategy to dismantle the entire narcotics ecosystem by targeting not only drug peddlers but also facilitators, financiers and others connected with the illegal trade.

Police reiterated its commitment to eradicating the drug menace and appealed to the public to cooperate by sharing credible information related to narcotics activities.
