Police bust terrorist hideout in Khari Ramban

Ramban, May 01: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have busted a terrorist hideout in Burzalla forest area of tehsil Khari of district Ramban and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the spot, officials said.
A police spokesman said on Monday, they received inputs through reliable sources regarding presence of caché of arms, ammunition and related material in the far flung hilly and forested area of tehsil Khari of District Ramban.
“Acting swiftly on the input, a search operation of JK Police and SOG Banihal was launched in the Burzalla forest area and suspected hideout locations were searched during which police busted a terrorist  hideout and ammunition among other things were recovered from the spot,” he said.
 
The spokesman said in this regard, a case FIR no. 106/2023 u/s 4 Explosive Substance act has been registered at P/S Banihal and investigation taken up.
 
The details of ammunition recovered include Rifle grenade-02, UBGL thrower-0, Wireless with antenna without battery -01, IED type with wire-02, Detonator type with wire-01, AK47 cartilage -17, 9mm cartilage -07, One glass bottle having glycerine type liquid-01, One khaki jacket-01 and Black leather shoe-01
 
The entire search operation was led by the police party of Police post Khari headed by PSI Rajnish Pangotra I/C PP Khari, SOG Banihal headed by InspHargopal Singh, under the command of Insp. Mohd Afzal Wani SHO P/S Banihal, under the supervision of Sh Nissar Khoja SDPO Banihal with the overall supervision of Ms Mohita Sharma, IPS SP Ramban.
 
 
 
 
LeT terrorist associate held with AK-47 in Shopian
The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a terrorist associate of proscribed Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit terror group in south Kashmir’s Shopian district and recovered AK-47 rifle from his possession.
A police spokesman said that Police along with Army have arrested a terrorist associate of LeT outfit DaramdoraKeegam Shopian,. Incriminating materials and an AK-47 rifle have been recovered from his possession, he said.
Briefing about the details, the spokesman said that acting on specific information, regarding the presence of terrorist in DaramdoraKeegam Shopian, a joint team of forces including Shopian Police and 44 RR launched Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the area.
He said that during the search operation, an OGW identified as Tanveer Ahmad Wani, son of Bashir Ahmad Wani of Daramdora village in Shopian district was arrested.  AK-47, one magazine, 10 AK rounds and one bag was recovered from his possession. Meanwhile a case in this regard has been registered and further investigation has been taken up, he said.
