BUDGAM: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said that they have booked the notorious drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act at Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A police official said that a notorious drug smuggler namely Ashfaq Rehman Khan from Sheikhpora Budgam has been booked under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act in Budgam.
“Khan was involved in promoting and supplying drugs to the local youth,” official said.
He said that this marks the 14th arrest made under the PIT NDPS Act during this year in the Budgam district. The Police has registered 77 cases related to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act during this year in the Budgam district.
“In the regard, 127 persons were involved in various drug-related offenses have been taken into custody,” official said.
