Srinagar, Sept 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday attached a residential house in Bandipora for sheltering and harbouring terrorists.
A police spokesman said obtaining legal sanction from the competent authorities, Bandipora Police attached the residential house of one person namely Bashir Ahmad Mir son of Ab Sattar resident of Wanpora Gurez, presentlyliving at Watrina Bandipora.”
The officials said that the house was linked to case FIR No.166/2021of PS Bandipora dated 26-09-2021 in which two hard-core terrorists were neutralized, who were involved in different terror crimes in Bandipora.
The spokesman said that the investigation proved beyond doubt that the house was used for the purpose of terrorism.
“Such act was voluntarily given by the member of the family. Many attacks on civilians, and protected persons were carried and planned by terrorists while using this house as a hideout,” the spokesperson said.
Police requested citizens not to harbour or give shelter to terrorists, failing which they will be liable to action under the law including property attachment proceedings.
The spokesman said in case of any forced entry by terrorists into any house or vehicle, the matter should be brought to the notice of police immediately, otherwise, proceedings under the law will follow against such houses or other properties.
The process of attaching properties in terror cases was started by Jammu and Kashmir in March. It had warned that properties of those who provide shelter to terrorists would be attached.
“Process has been started for attachment of some immoveable properties which have been used for purpose of terrorism as per Section 2 (g) and 25 of ULP Act,” police had tweeted.
“Don’t give shelter or harbour terrorists/ terror associates. Legal action will be supplemented by property attachment as per law,” Police said in a tweet.
