Continuing its operation against drug peddlers, Police in Awantipora attached a single-storied, residential house valuing approximately 25 lacs belonging to a notorious drug peddler namely Tajamul Masoodi son of Late Badrudin Masoodi resident of Bagander, Pampore under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985.
As per Police spokesperson, The said property was identified as illegally acquired during the course of enquiry conducted by SHO Police Station Pampore, under the supervision of SDPO Pampore, which was accrued from illicit trafficking in Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances by the said drug peddler. The said drug peddler is also involved in many cases. It is pertinent to mention here that the said drug peddler is currently detained under PIT-NDPS Act and lodged at Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu.
This operation reaffirms the commitment of Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable property which has been raised from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddler.
