Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Kulgam Police have arrested a drug peddler in and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Spokesperson said that a police party of Police Station Qazigund established a checkpoint (Naka) at Dalwach crossing and in the meantime one person carrying a bag after noticing police party tried to flee from the spot. However, he was chased and apprehended tactfully. After search, officers present were able to recover 02 Kgs of Charas like contraband substance filled in the said bag from his possession. During preliminary investigation, he has been identified as Imran Ahmad Parra son in law of Ghulam Mohd Shah a resident of Hutmurrah Mattan, Anantnag.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR number 53/2024 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated.
