Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug smuggler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police spokesperson said that a Police party led by SHO Police Station Kunzer under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Shri Imtiaz Ahmed-JKPS at a checkpoint established at Pinjoora Crossing intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number DL8CAW-6316 driven by one person identified as Rouf Ahmad Wani son of Nazir Ahmad Wani resident of Roshanabad Pinjoora. During checking, officers were able to recover 105 grams of Charas like substance from his possession.
“He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.”
“Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in police station Kunzer and further investigation has been initiated”, he said.
