Budgam, Jan 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Wednesday said that they have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A police official said that during the routine naka checking at Sunderabad Narbal, the police party from police post Narbal intercepted one person, who, upon seeing the police party, tried to flee from the spot; however, the police party chased and caught hold of him professionally.
“During the search, semi-ground charcoal-like substances weighing about 940 grammes and 80 tablets of Spasmo Proxiwon pills were recovered from his possession,” an official said.
He has been identified by the police as Jehangir Ahmad Sheikh Son of Ab Rashid Sheikh Resident of Sozieth Goripora.
However, the drug peddler was arrested on the spot, a case FIR No. 07/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Magam, and further investigation was taken up.
