Police on Sunday have arrested one drug peddler and recovered Contraband Substances from his possession in North Kashmir’s Sopore.
A Police spokesperson said that a police party of Police Post Warpora headed by IC PP Warpora SI Yousuf Ul Umar under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS and SHO PS Sopore Insp. Ayaz Gellani, at a checkpoint at Janwara Crossing apprehended one suspected person.
“During the search 113 grams of contraband charas like substance was recovered from his possession”, he said.
On preliminary verification he disclosed his identity as Sageer Ahmad Mir S/O Abdul Rashid Mir R/O Janwara Sopore.
In this connection, case under relevant sections of NDPS has been registered at Police Station Sopore & investigation has been initiated.
Sopore police urges the common masses to give information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112.
