Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police on Friday have arrested another drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Spokesperson said that a police party of Police Station Qazigund during patrolling at Kurigam crossing Qazigund intercepted one suspicious person identified as Riyaz Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar a resident of Churat Qazigund carrying a nylon bag. During search, officers were able to recover 4.2 Kgs of Poppy Straw like contraband substance filled in the said bag from his possession. He was arrested on spot.
“Subsequently, case vide FIR number 68/2024 under section 8/15 of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated”, he said.
