Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Spokesperson said that a police party of Police Station Qazigund at a checkpoint established at Upper Bazar Qazigund intercepted a motorcycle ridden by one person identified as Sahil Ahmad Lone Son of Abdul Rashid Lone resident of Dalwach, Qazigund carrying a nylon bag. During search, 1.4 Kgs of poppy straw like contraband substance was recovered. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody. Vehicle used in commission of crime has been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 189/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been taken up.
