In contiuation of its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police on Tuesday arrested one drug Peddler and recovered Contraband/Psychotropic substance from his Possession in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A Police spokesperson said that at Sadipora , the police party of PS Beerwah were conducting a naka checking wherein they intercepted one vehicle (Piazio Auto ) bearing Registration No JK013-6836 coming from Sanpah towards Kandoora .
The driver disclosed his identity as Gulzar Ahmad Sheikh s/o Habibullah Sheikh R/O Samboora Pulwama.
“During search of the said vehicle, charas like substance in grinded form weighing about *534 grms and 06 Charas Sticks wrapped in Corn husk weighing about 115 grms* were recovered from his possession. He was arrested on the spot and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized”, he said.
Accordingly, a Case FIR No 20/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at PS Beerwah and further investigation has been taken up.
