Srinagar, April 17: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Handwara have arrested 03 drug peddlers, recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party of Police Station Qalamabad headed by SHO PS Qalamabad during patrolling at Chuntipora crossing intercepted 03 suspicious persons. They have been identified as Danish Ahmad Malla son of Ab Majeed Malla resident of Batagund, Ashiq Hussain Dar son of Abdul Rashid resident of Watergam & Naseer Ahmad Lone son of Abdul Razaq resident of Hadipora. During search, 80 gms of Charas like substance was recovered from their possession. They have been arrested & shifted to PS where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 19/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered and investigation has been initiated.
