Police arrest three drug peddlers

Budgam, Jan 18: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said that they have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband & psychotropic substances from their possession in Beerwah area of Budgam district

A police official said that during the naka checking at village Lolipora near Indian Gas Agency, the Police Party from the Police Station Beerwah intercepted three persons for checking purposes, however on seeing police party they tried to flee from the spot but were captured and apprehended tactfully

They have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Bhat Son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat, Rouf Ahmad Bhat Son of Mohammad Sultan Bhat both residents of Otligam Beerwah and Mukhtar Ahmad Najar Son of Abdul Rashid Najar Resident of Chewdara Village.

“During their personal search, five sticks of Charas like substance wrapped in corn husk weighing 49 grams, 368 grams of Charas like substances in powder form & 14 strips of banned drug (Spasomin Pywon Plus) having 112 tablets, ₹2520 cash and 02 mobile phones were recovered. They were arrested on the spot for further course of action as per law, ” official said.

A Case FIR No. 06/2025 U/S 8/20, 22-29 of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Beerwah and investigation has been taken up.
