PoJK displaced granted equal rights, new opportunities: LG Sinha

Jammu, Mar 12:In a significant development, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the foundation stone laying ceremony of PoJKBhawan at Suketar, Jammu today. The event marked a crucial milestone in fulfilling the longstanding demand of displaced persons from PoJK (Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir) and Western Pakistan.
The Lieutenant Governor extended his heartfelt congratulations to the displaced persons, emphasizing the importance of addressing their grievances. The Bhawan, spread across 40 Kanal, 17 Marla, will be dedicated to the memory of the martyrs. It is set to feature a BalidanStambh and an Amphitheatre, alongside other infrastructure aimed at showcasing the rich cultural heritage and providing essential office space for community meetings and operations dedicated to the welfare of displaced persons.
Reflecting on the significance of PoJKBhawan, the Lt. Governor reiterated the government’s steadfast commitment to upholding the dignity and rights of displaced persons, who have long suffered injustices and atrocities. He acknowledged Prime Minister NarendraModi’s pivotal role in granting displaced families their due rights and benefits after decades of waiting, ensuring their equal treatment as citizens of the nation.
Furthermore, the Lt. Governor underscored the transformative opportunities now available to displaced persons, including the right to vote, contest elections, pursue professional education, and access government jobs.
Highlighting the government’s proactive stance, the Lt. Governor emphasized its dedication, under Prime Minister Modi’s guidance, to the socio-economic and political empowerment of displaced families. He reassured the community of the government’s sensitivity towards their needs and reiterated the commitment to providing land titles and ownership rights to displaced persons.
Additionally, the Lt. Governor urged community members to make the most of the special camps organized by the government in Jammu, Samba, and Kathua. These camps aim to facilitate access to various government schemes, provide skill training, empower women, and offer support to farmers within the community.
The event saw the presence of key dignitaries including Anil Kaul, Secretary of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction; ArvindKarwani, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants); Deepak Kapoor, President of PoJKVisthapitSewaSamiti, along with senior officers and a large number of displaced families.
