Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started his outreach through his visit to France and then he will be subsequently visiting the United States(US).He has reached Paris, where he has delivered the inaugural address of the AI Action Summit. In his address, the Prime Minister said that there is a need for investment in skilling and reskilling the people to keep in sync with the Artificial Intelligence (AI) driven intelligence. Besides that he stressed the need for making governance accessible for everyone, especially in the global South. It must be noted that France has confirmed India as the host for the next AI summit and India has assured its full support for the same. In his outreach visit the Prime minister also expressed his views at the India-France CEOs Forum in Paris, encouraging partnerships for the business. Modi underlined the Indian advancement in manufacturing, infrastructure and production. He invited the business leaders to the Indian market with a focus on Indian goal of “Viksit Bharat” that his government intends to achieve by 2047.This visit to France by the Prime Minister will surely invite a new gaze towards India as the nation has made new strides in the market economy carving a niche for itself in the defence manufacturing .India is emerging as a new market in the warfare and artillery sector. This has been proven especially when the European market has been proving short to supply for the emerging demand due to the Russia –Ukraine War. The Prime Minister is going to arrive in Washington after the France visit. This visit assumes much significance as he will be visiting immediately after the assumption of the office by President Donald Trump. He took the reins of power earlier this year. In his earlier term he had developed a chemistry with the Prime Minister Modi that sent a message of bilateral partnership meant to start a new chapter in India-US relations. This was seen as the paradigm shift as the US traditionally had been quite hesitant to join hands with India due to the Pakistan factor that shaped the US vision of south-Asia. But Pakistan’s continuous patronage and support of terrorism and inclination towards China has prompted the US to dilute its Pakistan tilt to a greater degree. Prime Minister Modi is visiting the US at a time when the President Trump has been aggressively ejecting immigrants who his administration says are devoid of documents to stay in the US.A few days ago a US military aircraft carried Indian immigrants, handcuffed to India. It was not taken well by the people in India and it caused a political furore that was reverberated in the Parliament with the opposition castigating the government. The national gaze is fixed on the Prime Minister as to how he will address this issue and bring home the point and send a clear message to the US. Fingers are crossed. Not only that with the open warnings being issued by the Trump to engage in trade with US on its terms and bartering the national interests and starting the trade wars.It is tobe seen what will be Indian standpoint. The questions that arises is that will India maintain its tarde autonomy amid the tariff increase by the US or not? The Prime Minister’s visit will answer many questions. All eyes are glued on Modi’s outreach.
