Anantnag, Apr 17: “Congress & Company has been shouting for the past eleven years that Samvidhan is under threat, but in reality, (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi has strengthened the constitutional spirit in India,” Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board and National Executive Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said on Thursday.
Her remarks came during the Ambedkar Jayanti Celebration event organised by the BJP at Dak Bungalow in Anantnag, where speakers highlighted the significant contributions of B.R. Ambedkar in shaping modern India.
Dr Andrabi highlighted the principles established by Ambedkar, saying the BJP is committed to building a nation grounded in constitutional values. “We are proud to build this nation on the constitutional principles given to us by Ambedkar Ji,” she said, asserting that the current regime represents a “golden era” for constitutional authority in governance and public life.
Throughout the event, various party leaders echoed this sentiment, pledging to disseminate Ambedkar’s messages of social justice and equality at the grassroots level. Notable attendees included District President Rakesh Koul, ST Morcha UT President Chowdhary Roshan, General Secretary Adil Hussain Nengroo, and others, all united in their support for the ongoing efforts to honour Ambedkar’s legacy.
The Waqf Board chairperson further pointed out PM Modi’s introduction of Samvidhan Divas in India as a testament to the government’s dedication to promoting constitutional awareness and respect.
