Jammu, Dec 08: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Jasrota constituency, Rajiv Jasrotia on Sunday laid the foundation stone of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) health and wellness centre under Ayushman Bharat costing Rs 92 lakh at Balhaar Thakur Pura Panchayat Chandwan here.
The centre, according to a statement issued by the MLA, will boost the significance of good health and broaden the facilities of primary healthcare services to the people of the Jasrota constituency. The foundation ceremony was held in the presence of former Sarpanch Yogesh Singh, former Sarpanch Bhawna Jasrotia, former Sarpanch Kirat Singh, Pawan, Raghubir Singh, Amit Prajapati and Updesh Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, Jasrotia highlighted the importance of the AYUSH system of treatment and wellness as it has a holistic approach that treats patients and encourages them to opt for healthy living by teaching yoga and other natural health practices.
“The right to health for all without discrimination is the Modi government’s commitment. Modi government has ensured every citizen in need of medical attention is treated with respect and dignity,” he said, adding, “A more happier and productive society is our prime objective. I believe public health is fundamental to stable socio-economic growth. Prudent policy followed by robust implementation helped us to fill gaps in health care capacities and eradicate inequality between rich and poor.”
The MLA claimed that while many developed nations are mulling over Universal health coverage, PM Modi has ensured equal access to health services without financial hardship. “For decades together, the people of J&K faced persistent neglect of healthcare. There was no government health insurance scheme. PM established a resilient health system and provided health assurance to all,” he said.
The State health agency that is implementing ABPMJAY SEHAT has achieved many milestones since the launch of the initiative and lakhs of people have been provided with Ayushman cards and lacs of beneficiaries have been provided free and cashless treatments under the scheme, Jasrotia said.
‘Leave no one behind’ is not just a mantra for the Union government but it is also our commitment to the people, MLA Jasrotia said.”Public well-being is always at the center of our policies and our spending on health programs has risen as compared to many developed and bigger states.”
He added, “Prime Minister has assured of providing liberal funding and all necessary support to develop the necessary infrastructure and human resources under the social welfare sector for the upliftment of women and children, destitute and other weaker and marginalised sections of society, besides developing infrastructure in AYUSH Department to provide quality health services under the sector to the people of UT of Jammu & Kashmir.”
