PHC Kanir shifted from rented to permanent building

Budgam, June 19: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam Akshay Labroo on Monday initiated the shifting of Primary Health Center (PHC) Kanir from a rented to a permanent building. He also initiated the work on establishing a Health & Wellness Centre (H&WC) at PHC Kanir in block Chadoora of District Budgam.
Vice chairman District Development Council (DDC) Budgam, Nazir Ahmad Jara; SDM Chadoora, Prince Noor-ul-Hamid; CMO Budgam, Mohd Ayoub; Block Medical Officer Chadoora and other concerned accompanied the DC during the visit.
After inaugurating the facilities, the DC said the district administration Budgam has given focused attention towards ensuring that health care services are housed in functional buildings with necessary infrastructure. He said all possible measures are being taken to further upgrade and strengthen the healthcare sector across the district.
On the occasion, the DC urged people to avail benefits of the facilities at these centres which include preventive, promotive and curative services and integrated Allopathic, AYUSH and Naturopathic systems for a holistic approach towards the health and well-being of a person and community.
He requested Vice-Chairman DDC Budgam, PRIs and people of the area to collaborate with District Administration in maintaining this health and wellness centre dedicated by the Government to continue availing maximum health benefits. The DC enjoined upon the health functionaries to work in a mission mode for the effective and efficient functioning of the centres to serve its purpose in the larger interest of the people. He emphasised giving focused attention towards vulnerable groups of society.
The DC urged youth for pro-active participation in the eradication of the drug menace so that Budgam will become the “Nasha Mukt” district.
Speaking on the occasion, CMO Budgam, Dr. Ayoub said the people of the area are going to get the best treatment and other medical assistance at this PHC. He said different medical services like OPD, gynaecology, dental, etc will be provided at this H&WC.
