Srinagar, Mar 09: Apni Party senior vice president Ghulam Hassan Mir on Saturday said that youth in Jammu & Kashmir have been falling prey to the emotional sloganeering by traditional political parties. He said the people need to rid themselves of “deceitful narratives” and focus on the “politics of positivity”.
He made these remarks on Saturday while addressing a public rally in the Hardu Aboora area of Tangmarg.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Our challenge is to save our youngsters from falling victim to the deceptive sloganeering and emotional political narratives perpetuated by traditional political parties. We have already suffered greatly over the past three decades. Hundreds of thousands of our young people have died or been jailed while following misleading political narratives. Our focus must be on positive politics to ensure peace, prosperity, and development in this land. For a better future, Jammu and Kashmir need peace and stability.”
Mir further said, “The Apni Party is dedicated to ensuring the protection of the Muslim identity of Kashmir and the protection of the constitutional rights of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. We will fight for this both politically and constitutionally, but we will never lead our youth down the path of destruction, as traditional parties have done over the years. Our youngsters are our assets, and we are dedicated to protecting them and creating avenues for their better future.”
“We will never try to allure people through fake promises and misleading slogans. Our politics is based on honesty and truth,” he added.
Ghulam Hassan said the people in J&K are grappling with a range of social problems and public issues. He assured that the Apni Party will ensure that these issues are resolved promptly. However, Mir urged people to contribute to a peaceful environment.
“For prosperity and development, Jammu and Kashmir needs permanent peace and stability. Peace and stability will ensure prosperity and development, which are important for the economic empowerment of the people,” he said.
Reiterating the Apni Party’s commitment to the people, Mir said, “We are committed to the people that when our government comes, it will enhance the marriage assistance for the women up to one lakh rupees from the existing assistance of Rs 50,000; and widows’ pension from existing RS 1,000 up to Rs 5,000 each beneficiary. We will also provide 500 units of electricity free to the consumers of the valley in the winter and 300 units in the summer. In Jammu, 500 units of electricity would be given free in summer and 300 units in winter. We will give 4 gas cylinders free to every household annually.”
