Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Tuesday declared that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have decisively rejected dynastic politics, as evidenced by the resounding defeat of National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti.

In a statement issued to media persons, Kavinder expressed his elation over the BJP’s significant victories in Jammu and Udhampur Lok Sabha constituencies. He noted that the electorate’s clear dismissal of these prominent political figures signals a crucial shift in the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted that the electoral outcomes reflect the citizens’ desire for a break from the entrenched political dynasties that have historically dominated the Union Territory’s political arena.

Kavinder emphasized that the time has come for the dynastic leaders of Jammu and Kashmir to reconsider their political strategies, as the electorate has unequivocally rejected the notion of political entitlement based on family lineage.

He stated that the victory of the BJP in Jammu region, along with the Party’s promising performance across the country, demonstrates the public’s preference for governance that prioritizes merit and performance over hereditary politics.

The senior BJP leader lauded his party colleagues for their hard work and dedication, which he credited for the electoral success.
