Inspector General Ajay Kumar Yadav of CRPF’s Srinagar Sector on Tuesday reaffirmed the prevailing peace in Srinagar district, emphasizing the absence of any terrorist activities.
He made these statements while addressing reporters during the flag-off ceremony of women CRPF bikers who embarked on a journey from Srinagar to Gujarat. The event, held at Lal Chowk Srinagar, was graced by the presence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
IG CRPF highlighted the active involvement of female CRPF officers in a range of crucial roles, including counter-insurgency operations, airport security, road opening parties (RoPs), prison security, and other sensitive missions.
In response to inquiries regarding the presence of terrorism in Srinagar, the IG CRPF pointed to a significant flagging-off event that occurred in the heart of Srinagar. This event, he noted, serves as a testament to the peaceful environment within the district, making it challenging to find a more serene atmosphere elsewhere.
Furthermore, when questioned about the possibility of Kashmiri women joining CRPF, the IG CRPF extended a warm welcome, confirming that Kashmiri women are encouraged to join the force in any capacity they choose.
Regarding the bike rally, he commended it as a symbol of women’s resilience, sending a powerful message that women can achieve their aspirations. He viewed it as a significant embodiment of women’s empowerment.
