PDP Youth Leaders Join NC in Banihal

Gool, May 4: National Conference MLA Banihal-Gool Sajjad Shaheen on Monday conducted a series of halqa-level workers’ meetings in the Mahakund area of Gool to strengthen grassroots outreach.

During the visit, PDP Block President Mahakund Mohammad Ashraf Hajam and PDP Youth Block Secretary Choudhary Liaqat Ali joined the National Conference along with their supporters, marking a political shift in the area.

Addressing party workers at meetings held in Mahakund, Bolni and Upper Dalwah, Shaheen said the people of Jammu and Kashmir had rejected the PDP in the 2024 Assembly elections. He criticised the party for its past alliance decisions, alleging it had compromised its mandate.

Shaheen was accompanied by former DDC Chairperson Shamshada Shan and other party functionaries during the tour.

He also visited Mahakund to offer condolences to families of five persons who died in a recent road accident at Gagan Top, expressing solidarity with the bereaved.

The meetings saw participation from local workers and residents, reflecting continued political activity in the region.
