Srinagar, Nov 22: Senior People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Incharge Eidgah Constituency, Mohammad Khurshid Alam, presided over a pivotal meeting of party affiliates at Goripora-Eidgah on Friday.
The gathering witnessed the presence of prominent workers and respected local heads, reflecting the party’s grassroots strength and commitment, a statement issued here said.
In his address, Alam underscored the PDP’s “unwavering resolve to champion public issues and restore the dignity of the people”. He reaffirmed the party’s role as a “beacon of hope for the suppressed”.
“Under the visionary leadership of Mehbooba Mufti Sahiba, the PDP has become the voice of the voiceless. Our relentless public outreach ensures that grievances are not only heard but also addressed by the relevant authorities. This commitment has solidified the trust people have in us,” Alam said.
Khurshid added, “The current political climate demands steadfast advocacy for public concerns, which have reached an unprecedented level of urgency. The PDP leadership will continue to raise public issues without fear or favour, no matter the challenges.”
Alam urged party members to maintain close ties with the public, acting as their voice and support system in times of need. “It is our collective responsibility to align people with the PDP’s vision of a prosperous and inclusive future under Mehbooba Mufti’s leadership,” he added.
The meeting was attended by notable leaders, including Dr Ali Mohammad and other esteemed local heads who echoed Alam’s sentiments and pledged their continued support to the party’s mission, the statement said.
