Srinagar, Aug 26: The People’s Democratic Front (PDF) has officially nominated Dr Nissar Ahmad Paul from Narkara as their candidate for the Budgam assembly constituency in the upcoming elections.
This decision was made during a meeting of the central executive committee of the PDF’s Budgam zone, which was chaired by the district president, Haji Ab Rashid, on Monday, the party said in a statement issued here.
PDF Chairman Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen while announcing Dr Paul’s candidacy said the Budgam constituency has been neglected in terms of development by previous regimes. “Dr Nissar Ahmad Paul is an honest, dedicated and selfless socio-political activist with a clean image and strong goodwill among the people of Budgam and surrounding areas,” he said. “Because of these qualities, the PDF has chosen him as their candidate for the Budgam assembly constituency.”
Hakeem appealed to the people of Budgam to vote for Dr Paul and urged them to rise above personal affiliations and cast their votes en masse in his favour. He expressed confidence in the candidate’s ability to serve the people of the constituency and meet their socio-political and developmental aspirations.
The central executive committee meeting was attended by several key members, including district secretary Haji Ab Gani, Mushtaq Ah Khan, Ali Mohd Shah Humhama, Mohd Ashraf, Mohd Akbar of Soibugh, Mohd Yousf Sepdan Gulwanpora, Ali Mohd Sagar Razwen, Ab Gafar, Bilal Ahmad of Gulwanpora, Reyaz Ahmad Rather and Ab Karim Rather, the statement said.
