PCK condoles demise of veteran journalist Khurshid Wani’s daughter

    Srinagar, Sep 24: The Press Club of Kashmir’s executive body convened a condolence meeting on Wednesday to express grief over the tragic death of the young daughter of veteran journalist Khurshid Ahmad Wani, who is affiliated with E TV18 and currently posted in Hyderabad. The members observed a two-minute silence, praying for strength and peace for Khurshid Wani and his bereaved family. As per a statement issued here, Wani’s daughter lost her life in a hit-and-run accident in Hyderabad’s Hayat Nagar area while on her way to college on Monday. Passers-by rushed her to the hospital, but despite medical efforts, she succumbed to injuries.  The news has left the journalistic community in Kashmir and broader circles in deep shock, with colleagues extending sympathies and solidarity. The body was scheduled to be flown to Srinagar and buried at her ancestral village in Devar, Tral (Pulwama district). The Press Club expressed its strong sympathies with the family during this period of profound loss. “May Allah place her in the highest place in Jannat and bestow the family with patience to bear this loss,” the statement said.
