Srinagar, Mar 12: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) organised a joining cum interaction programme at Achabal, Rafiabad where Javid Ahmad Lone along with scores of workers formally joined the party. Lone was previously associated with the People’s Conference.
During the event, the PDP Rafiabad unit also launched a membership drive in the constituency.
PDP leader and contested candidate from Rafiabad, Altaf Ahmad Malik welcomed the new entrants into the party fold. He urged workers to strengthen the party at the grassroots level and stay connected with the common people to help resolve their day-to-day issues.
Addressing the media, Malik said the PDP is dedicated to fighting for the rights of the people and will raise public issues both inside and outside the Assembly, from unemployment to development initiatives.
He criticised the National Conference (NC), accusing the party of betraying the people despite holding a majority in the Assembly.
