Jammu, Oct 26: Apni Party on Thursday demanded the release of pending financial packages, reservation in jobs and professional colleges in favour of the displaced persons and their children.
According to a party statement issued here, a meeting was organized here at Bhor camp in Satwari. While addressing the meeting, Apni Party Women Wing Provincial President, Jammu, Pavneet Kour said that the Govt has not formed any policy for the displaced persons for their social, economic, educational and political upliftment.
“The demand for the release of the pending financial package is yet to be fulfilled. Then the Central government had sanctioned a specific amount in favour of each family belonging to the displaced persons,” she said.
She said the displaced persons feel that they were ditched by the government regarding the redressal of their pending issues. “The reservation in jobs and educational institutions is still not implemented in favour of DPs,” she said.
Meanwhile, Provincial President Jammu, Youth Wing, Vipul Bali said that the DPs will come on the roads and intensify their struggle in a coordinated manner so that the Govt accepts their pending demands.
“The DPs have suffered for decades and the Govt did not give heed to their pending demands,” he said.
He said that if the government did not accept their demands, the DPs would come on the roads. He also demanded political representation by reserving 8 assembly seats in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly for the DPs.
