Baramulla, Jan 23: The authorities have urged the resident of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district to refrain from littering cow dung and other waste in public places.
An official order from the district administration informed the residents to refrain from placing or littering cow dung and other types of waste on roads and other public places. It warned of strict legal action against the defaulters.
The Block Development Officer, Pattan (1 Class Executive Magistrate) said it has been noticed that some miscreants are throwing garbage and other domestic waste on roadsides and placing heaps of cow dung at spots of vital public importance.

He said the government has time and again stressed achieving complete sanitation in villages by means of proper solid and liquid waste management and this act creates a hindrance in this mission.
“Through the medium of this notice, the general public is hereby informed to refrain from placing/littering cow-dung and other types of waste on roads and other public places failing which shall render strict legal action against the defaulters,” the BDO Pattan said.
