Jammu, Jan 05: Commencement of Roun Ramnagar project received enthusiastic support from the local community who expressed gratitude towards the central government, UT administration and local MP Dr Jitendra Singh.
Ranbir Singh Pathania, BJP spokesperson, during a gathering of party cadres in Ramnagar, announced the initiation of a multi-crore project costing Rs 22.59 crores under the PMGSY upgradation. He also announced another sanctioned project, Sira to Shiv Gali on Dudu-SudhMahadev axis, with a budget of Rs 53.99 crore.
The allocation process for both projects was pending at the Civil Secretariat under the Administrative Secretary PWD. The Roun-Ramnagar road was transferred from PWD to PMGSY, leading to a lack of repairs for almost a year, resulting in deteriorating conditions and inconvenience for local commuters. The road serves as a lifeline for nearly two lakh people. The commencement of work was met with applause and excitement from the public.
Pathania emphasized the need for high-quality work and urged timely completion of the project. He called for the acceleration of the Jal Jeevan Mission projects, a significant initiative supplying piped water to every household. He also urged the local administration to enhance digital service delivery and discussed issues related to drinking water, electricity, and health.
The BJP spokesperson stressed the necessity of a healthy and responsive administration, calling for improved synergy between officers and PRIs for more effective execution of public projects and services. The meeting was attended by Mool Raj DDC Ramnagar-I, Virinder Singh Mandal Vice President, Prem Singh Salathia, Prof Sunil Bhardwaj, Rameez Sheikh, Raj Gopal, Jagmohan, Kuldeep Sharma, Hans Raj, Sukhdev Singh, and others.
