Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, CPI(M) leader and MLA Kulgam, expressed grief over the death of Shamima Hafiz, daughter of the late Abdul Gani Hafiz, a well-known trade leader in Jammu and Kashmir.
Tarigami said Shamima Hafiz had been ill for some time and passed away after a long struggle. She was the daughter of a visionary leader who dedicated his life to championing the rights of the working class in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Late Hafiz was a lifelong advocate for the working-class movement in J&K, tirelessly championing the interests of workers and employees. He devoted much of his time and energy to strengthening the working-class movement in the region,” Tarigami said.
He further added, “Shamima Hafiz was also the sister of Hafiz Ayaz, Editor-in-Chief of Rising Kashmir. I have known this family closely and worked with late Hafiz for many years. Her passing is a great loss of a somber and noble soul.”
Offering his condolences, Tarigami expressed heartfelt sympathies to the grieving family and paid tribute to Shamima Akhtar Hafiz, acknowledging her as a noble soul whose loss is deeply felt.
