Srinagar, May 20: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Youth President Waheed Ur Rehman Parra has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of a staunch party worker and his close aide, Ghulam Mohammad Ganie of Chatapora, Pulwama.
Ganie, after a prolonged illness, passed away on Sunday evening in his hometown of Pulwama. He had been associated with the PDP as one of its senior workers since the year 2002.
In a statement, Parra hailed the dedication with which the late Ghulam Mohammad Ganie strengthened the party at the grassroots level and worked tirelessly for its overall growth in his area. Despite suffering from a chronic disease, Mohammad cast his vote for the PDP in the recent parliamentary elections, demonstrating his loyalty and dedication to the party, he said.
The PDP leader prayed for peace for the departed soul and extended his sympathies to the bereaved family members. He prayed for their strength in this hour of loss and urged for courage to be granted to the members of the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Describing the departed soul as a humble and pious human being, Parra remarked that his absence would be keenly felt. “Ghulam Mohammad Ganie was a generous human being whose memory would live on in the hearts of the people forever. With his passing, Pulwama has lost a generous human being,” Parra said. He described his demise as a personal loss that would be difficult to fill.
