Jammu, Sept28:Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha met and felicitated Paris 2024 Paralympics Bronze Medallists, Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar, at Raj Bhawan on Saturday.
The Indian archery pair of Rakesh Kumar and Sheetal Devi clinched the bronze medal in the mixed team compound event with a win over EleonoraSarti and MatteoBonnacina of Italy at the Paris Paralympics.
The Lt Governor congratulated the Para Archers from UT of J&K for their incredible performance at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
Interacting with the para-archers Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar, the Lt Governor said that their hard work, dedication, and remarkable achievements in international games have made the nation proud.
“Your exceptional performance will inspire the young generation,” the Lt Governor said.
The Lt Governor also felicitated the archery coach, AbhilashaChaudhary, and extended his best wishes to the athletes and the coach for their future endeavours.
AnshulGarg, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB, and other senior officers of the Shrine Board were present on the occasion.
The Indian contingent concluded its historic Paris Paralympics campaign with a total of 29 medals, including seven gold, nine silver, and 13 bronze medals, the most by the country in the history of the competition.
