Jammu, July 19: Due to increasing day temperatures in the Jammu district the parents of school-going children have urged the school education department to either extend the summer vacation or adjust the school timings to early morning hours.
A Parent told Rising Kashmir that their children, who attend private schools, are finding it difficult to cope with the heat wave and humidity.
He said that the school education department should consider changing the school timings so that students can attend classes comfortably in the morning.
The parent also questioned why private schools, for which parents pay fees, have not installed fans in classrooms to provide relief to students during classes.
Many students from the Jammu district expressed that the continuous heat wave is making it challenging for them to attend classes, as most schools lack facilities to make the classroom environment more comfortable.
Students have suggested that the school education department either adjust school timings or extend the summer vacation for students in the Jammu division.
An official from the Director of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) said that we can say anything into this regard.
