Budgam, Feb 17: The new building of the Child Care Institute for girl children has been made functional in the Khansahib area in this central Kashmir’s Budgam district where free of cost education and all other things will be provided to them.
An official from the Child Protection Office Budgam told Rising Kashmir that the District Child Protection Officer Budgam along with the District Social Welfare Officer Budgam inaugurated and made functional the new building of the “PAREESHA” Child Care Institute for girl children.
This is part of the Mission Vatsalya Department of Social Welfare, Jammu and Kashmir. The institute was inaugurated in presence of the Sub Division Administration Khansahib, public representatives, and locals.
“In this Child Care Institute, free education and all necessary things will be provided to those girl children from 5 to 18 years of age, who are in need of care and protection,” the official said.
He said that presently the institute can accommodate 25 girls. This is the first such kind of institution in Budgam district that has three-star facilities at present, he added.
Explaining further, the official said, “Across the district, the village-level child protection committees will identify such children in their villages who are in need of care and protection. After they identify such children, the District Children Protection Office and District Social Welfare Officer Budgam will accommodate them in the institution; and after completing all formalities, as per the government rules, the girl children will be enrolled here.”
