Kishtwar, Aug 16: Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Project (HEP), a significant undertaking by Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (CVPPL), on Tuesday commemorated the 77th Independence Day of the nation with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. The celebration took the form of a half-day sports and cultural event held at the Powder House Site Office, Arzi Village, Kishtwar.
The event began with the hoisting of the National flag by Ramesh Mukhiya, (GGM) Head of Projects (HOP) at Pakal Dul HE Project. The echoes of the national anthem filled the air, marking the commencement of the celebration.
Pakal Dul Project embarked on this tradition of Independence Day celebrations at Arzi last year, and this marked the second consecutive year of festivity. The event was carefully planned to involve not only the project’s officers, staff, and workforce but also the local community. Notably, the celebration at the Powerhouse venue welcomed officers, staff, and workforce residing in the Dool/Arzi area, as well as the Project Affected Families (PAFs) from Arzi, Tanji, and nearby regions.
The heartwarming participation of PAF children, along with their parents and families, lent a special charm to the cultural and sports events.
Addressing the gathering, the HOP- Pakal Dul reiterated the pivotal role played by CVPPL in the region’s development, citing the substantial direct and indirect employment opportunities generated by the Project. The distinguished event also underscored the active monitoring of CVPPL projects by the Government of India, recognizing their potential to pave the way for a transformative developmental trajectory in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
