Anantnag, Mar 22:In a bid to promote sustainable practices and enhance professionalism in the tourist trade, the Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA), in collaboration with tourist trade stakeholders, has announced the introduction of uniforms along with badges or nameplates for staff members interacting with tourists in Pahalgam.
According to Tariq Hussain, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA), the advisory was issued with the aim of cultivating professional ethics in the tourism sector.
“This initiative will streamline interactions with visitors and ensure a seamless experience for tourists in Pahalgam,” stated Hussain. “Our goal is to establish Pahalgam as a premier tourist destination globally.”
The advisory issued by the PDA emphasizes the unanimous agreement reached with tourist trade stakeholders during a recent meeting. It mandates that all tourist service providers in Pahalgam, including taxi stands, hotels, restaurants, and guest house owners, implement uniforms along with badges/nameplates for staff members engaged directly with tourists and the general public.
“This collective decision underscores our commitment to professionalism, efficiency, and ensuring a seamless experience for tourists and visitors,” the advisory stated.
Taxi operators catering to tourists will wear distinctive green uniforms with nameplates and will keep jute bags in their taxis for collecting various unwanted and unused items, facilitating easy identification.
Moreover, all stakeholders are advised to strictly adhere to this uniform policy and ensure its effective implementation within their respective associations. The advisory highlights that uniformity in attire will not only enhance the professional image of their businesses but also foster trust and reliability among visitors.
